Engagement and Prevention

At Heartly House, we believe in a proactive approach to preventing violence through education and engagement with our Frederick community. Our Engagement team serves to raise awareness across Frederick County, MD on topics of intimate partner abuse, sexual assault, human trafficking, and child abuse by educating thousands of community members each year. Our coordinators provide trainings, webinars and specific programs or curriculums for individual community partners.

The Engagement and Prevention department works toward educating and empowering the community of Frederick to support survivors and help create an abuse free community. Bystander Intervention is at the cornerstone of our work to end and prevent future abuse. If you or your organization wants to learn more about how to become active bystanders, please contact us to set up a training.

Community and Youth engagement presentations are flexibly scheduled and available upon request. Each presentation can be tailored to meet the specific educational needs for a wide variety of audiences. To request a presentation, please contact Jenn Metcalf Tousey, Engagement and Prevention Manager, at 301-418-6610 ext. 231 or
