Heartly House offers both individual and group counseling to children and adults as well as survivors and secondary survivors. Free and confidential, our counseling is provided by trauma informed, licensed clinicians. The counseling department also offers learning experiences for masters-level counseling and social work students.

Support Groups for Adults.

Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) Support Group
When: Mondays from 1:00-2:15pm.

This is an open and ongoing group for individuals who have experienced or are currently experiencing intimate partner abuse in any form – emotional, physical, psychological, etc. It provides a trauma-informed, nonjudgmental environment for participants to share their experiences related to IPV, give and receive support, and discuss topics related to safety, healing, and healthy relationships.

Circle of Support
(Parents of Human Trafficking Survivors)
When: Mondays from 4:00-5:00pm.
The group is currently recruiting for a future cycle.

This is a closed 10-week group for parents of survivors of human trafficking. It offers a safe, supportive environment for members to share, listen, and heal together. The group will provide opportunities for members to give and receive support, as well as learn psychoeducation related to complex and secondary trauma.

SELF
When: Tuesdays 1:00-2:15pm.

This is an open group for women who have experienced any type of sexual assault or sexual abuse. The psychoeducational curriculum is a part of the Sanctuary Model and focuses on Safety, Emotions, Loss, and
Future (SELF).

Mindfulness Group
When: 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month from 2:30-3:30pm.

This is an open group for adult survivors of any type of assault or abuse. This is not a process-oriented group, but a structured group focusing on mindfulness education and practices. We will explore a new technique or skill each session. Those who are just beginning their mindfulness journey and those with more experience are
welcome to join.

Empowered (Boundaries Support Group)
When: Tuesdays at 6:30pm.
This group is temporarily on hold until the fall, but requests can be submitted for that next cycle.

This is a closed, 14-week group for all survivors. This group will help clients to work on setting boundaries and limits through psychoeducation, boundary-setting tips, examples, and practice exercises using interactive activities, journal exercises, and encouragement from other participants and the group facilitator. Participants will be given a weekly handout to complete throughout the group.

Healing Pride
When: Every other Tuesday from 6:45-7:45pm.
This group is currently accepting new group members.

This is a open, rolling-admission group for LGBTQIA+ identifying adult survivors of intimate partner violence and/or sexual assault or abuse. The group incorporates education about trauma, skill-building to manage trauma symptoms, and processing trauma in an affirming environment

Beyond Trauma
When: Wednesdays 6:30-7:45pm.
The group is currently closed but requests can be submitted for next cycle.

This is a closed group for adult survivors of intimate partner violence and/or sexual assault or abuse. The group incorporates education about trauma, skill-building to manage trauma symptoms, and processing trauma in a small and confidential setting.

Male Sexual Assault Survivor Group
When: Wednesdays from 7:00-8:30pm

This is an open group for men who have experienced any type of sexual assault or sexual abuse.

Processing Beyond Trauma
When: Thursdays 12:30-1:45pm
The group is only open to clients who have completed a full cycle of Beyond Trauma.

This group is a continuation of the Beyond Trauma support group. This group is focused on trauma processing and giving/receiving support amongst group members.

COURAGE
When: Date/time TBD (currently recruiting members)

This group is for female victims of childhood sexual abuse. The group will meet weekly and will run in 12-week cycles. Each week will address a new topic and provide opportunities to meet other survivors, explore common emotions associated with childhood sexual abuse, build skills to manage relationships and eventually share experiences.

Corazon de Mujer
When: Date/Time TBD (currently recruiting members)

Spanish ongoing group, meeting two times a month. This group aims to help survivors of trauma connect and build supportive relationships while discussing common experiences. During our small support groups, you will learn about coping mechanisms, highlight strengths and resiliency, listen to other women’s experiences, and share your own (if you wish). You will be accepted for who you are, without judgment or discrimination. The support group will focus on reflection, coping skills and tips to take control of anxiety, depression, stress, and isolation.

Support Groups for Children.

Child Mindfulness Group For (Ages 8-12)
When: In-person on Mondays from 5:00–6:00pm
This group is currently recruiting members.

This is a closed 8-week group for children who have experienced trauma from intimate-partner violence, sexual assault, or child abuse. This is not a process-oriented group, but a structured group focusing on mindfulness education and practice. Participants will spend the hour learning about the benefits of mindfulness, how to incorporate it into their lives, and practicing mindfulness techniques in a safe and supportive environment.

Children Witnessing Domestic Violence
When: The group is temporarily on hold, but requests can be submitted for a future cycle.

This is a closed, psychoeducational group for children who have witnessed or experienced domestic violence in their homes. This group runs in cycles
