During a bathroom break on her 10-mile run, 36 year-old Kelly Herron finished washing her hands, turned around, and saw a man standing in the bathroom. She was then assaulted by Gary Steiner — a 40-year-old registered level 3 sex offender.
Thankfully, just three weeks earlier, Kelly had taken a two-hour self defense tactics class offered through her employer. As discussed in the video below, she used these tactics to fend off her attacker and escape.
